With a title and concept that can only be described heavily absurd, Randall the Grape Jelly Cube Goes to Soda Valley for some reason sunk its design roots into the a familiar 3D platformer world of the early 2000s.
Releasing for PCs at the very end of 2024, Randall the Grape Jelly Cube teleports the player to the N64 collectathon days of yore, complete with an extensive hub world and various bits and bobs to be snatched in order to progress the game’s final areas. With a variety of jumping styles, fellow boosters will quickly find that the game provides the player with many ways to speed through each area. Long jumps and spin jumps can be strung together allowing the player to maintain breakneck speeds that are simple to learn, yet difficult to master.
This relatively unknown entry into the 3D platforming arena presents us with many opportunities for optimization as well as two main categories to explore.
