Known by it’s original title, Plotting, Flipull is the console version of this unique puzzle game developed and published for arcades by Taito in 1989. Flipull was ported to just about every early 90s PC in Europe, as well as both the Famicom and Game Boy in Japan. Unfortunately, it never took off quite as well in the States, where it only released on Game Boy.
The objective of the game is to fire your block at a stack of differently patterned blocks in the bottom left of each stage, removing them from the playfield. Use newly acquired blocks to remove more blocks until you’ve clearly the required number necessary to move on to the next stage.
The Game Boy speedrun board currently only has a 10-stage category. However, the Famicom version of the game has both 10-Stage and 50-Stage categories, along with two play modes. Normal mode provides random board states for each level, where-as Advanced mode’s board states are always the same, allowing for the player to plan and execute the fastest solution possible for each stage.
