Corridor 7: Alien Invasion is a game built on a modified version of the Wolfenstein 3d engine, as such, it comes with many of the same quirks and overall mechanics. While there is a story to the game, it seems to be mostly contained in the manual.

GOG has the following key points to say about this game:

  • Leave no survivors as you blast through the complete selection of 46 levels from the CD-ROM version of this classic shooter.
  • Eradicate the marauding alien invaders with an arsenal of nine devastating weapons.
  • Use your infrared visor to spot traps, or track your enemy in the dark with night vision.
  • Can’t get enough? Take on the Presidential Level, which is different each time you play!
  • Crank up the volume and get lost in the atmospheric soundtrack.

BOOSTERS’ TAKE

Our speedrun of this game refutes many of the GOG talking points.

  • We leave MANY survivors, as the main category is on the easiest difficulty.
  • Eradicate? Ain’t no time for that.
  • Infrared visor? We just run past all that stuff.
  • Presidential Level? skip.
  • Turning off the sound makes the game run much, much faster, so…you should bring your own soundtrack. (The music is pretty rad though!)

Our Boosters had a lot of fun with this one– it was also our first to have no pre-existing entry on Speedrun.com.

Once it was announced, we had to do some initial discovery on which version of the game to even play. Both the GOG and Steam version of the game ended up being acceptable.
