The Ignition Factor (called Fire Fighting in Japan) was released on the SNES in 1994. Developed and published by Jaleco, Ignition Factor puts the player in control of a firefighter as they navigate burning buildings and use various tools and objects to extinguish flames and save trapped civilians. There are 9 stages, with the absolute final one only accessible by achieving a score of 5000 or more throughout the game. There is also a slight platforming aspect, as the player can run and jump over pits and flames to navigate the stages more quickly.
BOOSTERS’ TAKE
The levels in this game are quite open ended, with many doors and pathways to navigate; thankfully, only a set number of civilians need to be saved in each level to successfully complete it. As a result, proper routing of the most convenient civilians to rescue and understanding the best item loadouts for each stage was an interesting puzzle for the Board Boosters to tackle, even though a lot of the route was figured out prior to our December 2024 boost.
