Dreamworld Pogie, our first and most infamous boost target, is a game developed by the Oliver Twins, best known for the Dizzy puzzle-platformer franchise. Originally partially developed for the NES in 1992 but given the axe, its finalization was KickStarted in 2016 and a somewhat complete product was released in 2017.
Players control Pogie the Fluffle, a little purple beast, as he sprints and jumps through 15 candy-themed stages. Stars can be collected to grant extra lives similar to coins, but the only requirement for clearing a level is to reach the exit. Pogie can also pick up invulnerability masks that boost his run speed and let him crash through enemies. It’s an addictive and fun little speedgame that served as a great starter project for Board Boosters.
